Strategic Grants 2014
In 2015 seven grants of up to £30,000 for up to three years were awarded to:
Deptford Reach (3 year award)
To deliver a joint service with Bench Outreach to help homeless people aged 18-65 years with low level support needs to access and sustain private rented accommodation.
Eco Communities
To deliver accredited training to 24 NEET young people in hospitality, catering and barista skills, and provide work experience at the Pepys Resource Centre community café.
Greenwich Association of Disabled People
To employ an Employment Advisor (2.5 days per week) to support disabled people living in the DCT area to move into employment.
Greenwich Co-operative Development Agency
To develop the newly formed Deptford Society to bring together Deptford businesses, market traders, residents, community groups and arts organisations, to create an economically and culturally vibrant High Street.
PRIME - The Princes Initiative for Mature Enterprise (now Business In The Community)
To support unemployed Deptford and Lewisham residents over 50 to become self-employed.
Sing London
To install 8 new ping pong tables across the DCT area, deliver a programme of events to promote usage and train 8 volunteers to sustain the project beyond the funding period.
Working with Men (3 year award)
To continue current work, supporting young men in the DCT area into employment, education and training, helping them to access services and encouraging positive parenting, with a focus on young fathers.
